Every Tuesday I have been posting on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter a photo and a prompt – asking you to give yourself permission to take a breathing break. I am going to start sharing some of them here, so if you need to you can come to my page and find one that resonates and breathe.
I encourage you all to take these breathing breaks periodically throughout the day and not just on Tuesdays. I started with Tuesdays because Mondays tend to be so frantic, by mid-day Tuesday, many of us are longing already for the weekend and down time.
I truly believe if we can slow down and become more mindful of the moments we are in, our stress will subside. Is it easy? Not always, guys. Can it get easier? Yes! The more we decide to take these breaks.
Take a few moments to clear your mind.
Let go of the lists, the running around, the frantic pace.
Sit and take the scene in below.
Quiet your mind and begin taking deep breaths, from your belly not your chest.
Breathe in deep from your belly for 1- 2 – 3 – 4.
Then breathe out 1 – 2 – 3 – 4, letting go of all that isn’t serving you…
Repeat for 5 minutes or more.
Make more space for you, each day!
